Utility Trailer Manufacturing and Food City® Celebrates 50,000th Dry Van Trailer Milestone

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., May 21, 2013 – Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, the industry’s largest manufacturer of refrigerated trailers and a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, flatbeds, and Tautliner® curtainsided trailers is pleased to announce that it has exceeded an important milestone by producing the 50,000th dry van trailer at its Glade Spring, Virginia manufacturing plant.

Headquartered in Abingdon, Virginia, K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. (Food City’s parent company) is a locally owned company operating 106 retail supermarkets throughout the tri-state regions of Southeast Kentucky, Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. The Company commissioned the production of Utility’s 50,000th 4000D-X Composite® dry van manufactured at the Glade Spring, VA plant. “We would like to congratulate Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company and their team of dedicated associates on reaching such an important milestone in their plant’s history,” says Steven C. Utility currently operates five trailer manufacturing facilities across the United States. The Clearfield, Utah and Marion, Virginia plants manufacture Utility’s #1 selling refrigerated trailer.
