CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., March 20, 2019 — Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co., the industry’s largest manufacturer of refrigerated trailers and a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, flatbeds, and Tautliner® curtainsided trailers is pleased to congratulate Lee Long from Southeastern Freight Line for being this year’s CCJ (Commercial Carrier Journal) Career Leadership Award recipient.
Mr. Long was recognized at the 43rd annual CCJ Career Leadership Award ceremony in conjunction with the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) annual meeting. CCJ recognizes individuals who have dedicated their career to excellence and education as well as demonstrated active involvement, leadership, and substantial accomplishments within the industry.
As an active member of TMC since 1996, Mr. Long was responsible for the formation of the council’s Professional Technician Development Committee (PTDC) and the SuperTech National Technician Skills Competition. Mr. Long was chairman of the PTDC from 2007 to 2010, and then he was elected to TMC’s board of directors in 2011. In 2012, Mr. Long raised awareness about heavy-duty truck technician careers specifically among students. He was named the TMC Silver Spark Plug award winner that same year. “Lee always had a passion for growing the industry and helping others succeed,” said Craig Bennett, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. “His career is filled with accomplishments, honors and accolades. Mr. Long has worked for Southeastern Freight Lines for over 27 years and is currently the Director of Fleet Services for the company.
